“Embracing Excellence for All ~ Students First” is our 2009-2010 school-year motto. Students, teachers & counselors, and parents working together focused on putting students first is destined to produce positive results. McIntosh continues to receive recognition in our efforts to be superior in our academic endeavors. As a 2009 Georgia School of Excellence, recipient of the State Department of Education’s 2008 platinum award for student achievement, and listed on Newsweek’s 2009 “Top 1300 U.S. Schools List, placing the school in the top 6% of public high schools nationwide; McIntosh students are honored locally and nationally for their outstanding performances as a result of high expectations and rigor in the classroom.
Students’ commitment to receiving an outstanding education, and their involvement in extra-curricular activities that enrich classroom instruction, contribute to our school’s success. Teachers’ efforts to provide instruction and learning opportunities that are challenging and rewarding lay the foundation for academic excellence. Our counselors’ practice of maximizing students’ potential and acting as liaisons between the school and home synchronizes the efforts of students, teachers, and parents. The role of McIntosh parents in supporting education is paramount in our efforts to produce well-educated, nationally competition students. The African proverb, “It takes a village to educate a child,” is defended by the actions of our McIntosh community.
To our returning Chiefs, congratulations for a job well done in the past; keep up the outstanding work. To our new Chiefs, welcome to McIntosh High School, where learning and outstanding performance are counterparts in our quest for excellence. Please know that the McIntosh High School administration commends the efforts of our students, and we are available to assist you. Best wishes to all for a successful school year.
Sincerely,
