Welcome/Introductions: Cele E, Sabrina A, Laurel C, Kim L, Tamara K, Pat C, Jane H, Jeanette B, Lisa H, Kathleen O, Cyndi P, Teresa L, Laurie L, Carleen Mc, Mary Ann B, Tamara B, Diana R, Ro S
President’s Remarks: Cele Eifert has enjoyed her time as President of the PTSO and gave thanks to all the volunteers
- Principal’s Remarks: Mr. Wright thanked the PTSO, MHS had a good year academically and athletically, he requested parent volunteers to help with Camp McIntosh, all-school orientation is August 5th, the 2010-2011 school day will be from 8:30-3:25
- Treasurer's Report: Reviewed income & expenditures thru April, the budget is in good shape, waiting on IRS tax review and standing on fines
- Accident Avoidance Workshop: Dates for next sessions are Thursday June 3rd and June 10th. Driving sessions are from 8am to 12:30pm OR from 1:30pm to 6pm on Saturday June 5th, Sunday June 6th, Saturday June 12th or Sunday June 13th.
- Appropriations: No report
- Bulletin Board: Has been updated
- Fashionata: No report
- Front Office: No report
- Guidance: Has been busy, needs volunteers for next year, if interested contact Teresa Love or Jane Higgins
- Homecoming: No report
- Hospitality: Awards Night went well, concerns were expressed over missing inventory- a locking cabinet/closet is being considered, 28 May is last day of school meal provided by WalMart, deli platters for 130 guests, bottles of water will be supplied by 7 of our PTSO members, need volunteers to set up at 4:30, dinner will be served at 5:00, contact Tamara Brettin to volunteer
- Landscaping: Need a dedicated committee of 20 volunteers to tackle the school property, contacting Fayette County & True Green to confirm their maintenance roles and discussed options such as school clubs pitching in or hiring a company to maintain Islands, Courtyard & School Front
- Media Center: Volunteers are welcome!
- Recycling: Just a few bins still need to be adopted, if you are interested in adopting a bin contact Lisa Hall at ocean_wistful@bellsouth.net
- Service Projects: No report
- School Store: The cooler is broken, a motion was made and approved to spend up to $75 to have it looked at and up to $150 to have it repaired
- Spiritwear: In order to reduce inventory there is a clearance sale on certain items, tables will be set up at middle school events so the rising freshmen can purchase MHS spiritwear
- Student Club: Brick sale has made a profit and phase I is complete
- Bylaws: according to current bylaws, revisions only require approval by Executive Board (that is being changed in revision); Since this is such a busy time of year, two exec officers asked that, in lieu of a meeting, an email with the old bylaws and revised bylaws be sent for approval prior to the new board assuming office 1 July.
- PTSO-sponsored Volunteer Appreciation Brunch: Thursday, May 20 at 11:30 in the MHS Music Theory Room – All committee chairs, please be sure to invite all of your volunteers & let us know who’s coming (to insure enough food)
- Request for Camp McIntosh volunteers: 29 July
- Requests for Donations: A motion was made and approved to donate $100 to the Science Olympiad, in future they need to fill out the appropriations form at the beginning of the year
- Karen Powell: A motion was made and approved to purchase a book (up to $25) to honor her recently lost loved ones, we appreciate all she does for McIntosh and the PTSO
- Elections: A motion was made and approved to accept the slate
