  • Welcome/Introductions:  Dan L, Cele E, Laurel C, Kim L, Laura P, Tamara K, Pat C, Jane H, Jeanette B, Lisa H, Kathleen O, Cyndi P, Teresa L, Jane A, Gail P, Laurie L

 

  • Asst Principal’s Remarks:  Dan Lane commented that the registration process for the 2010-2011 school year is underway.  He is happy with the on line selection process with Infinite Campus.  “Upper Class Day” is going to be from 2:00-6:00 on August 5th.  Upperclassmen can purchase their lockers & parking permits and check class schedules.  Kudos to Science Olympiad for placing fourth in the state.

 

  • Treasurer's Report:  Reviewed income & expenditures thru March, thanks to everyone for doing a great job keeping our spending tight

 

  • Committee Reports
      • Accident Avoidance Workshop:  The dates for next sessions are Thursday June 3rd and possibly June 10th.  Driving sessions are from 8am to 12:30pm OR from 1:30pm to 6pm on Saturday June 5th, Sunday June 6th, Saturday June 12th or Sunday June 13th
      • Appropriations:  The purchase of plants ($75-$100) for graduation to be planted at the school afterwards has been approved
      • Bulletin Board:  A Plexiglas cover may be needed to protect the bulletin board
      • Fashionata:  Was a success
      • Front Office:  No report
      • Guidance:  Diplomas have been checked , caps & gowns go out on the 23rd
      • Homecoming:  No report
      • Hospitality:  Cyndi Plunkett is going to get the food for the last teacher dept luncheon on 22 April for PE/Health Depts (9 people); WalMart will provide the food for the last-day-of-school teacher meal; Committee is preparing for Honors Nights: May 3 (Seniors) & May 4 (Underclassmen)
      • Landscaping:  two work days upcoming: Friday April 23 & Saturday April 24
      • Media Center:  No report
      • Nominating Committee (Teresa Love, Pat Cook, Kimberly Calamoneri): Presented the slate for the PTSO 2010-2011 Executive Board:

             President:  Sabrina Aslam

        Vice president: Kathleen Oelberg

        Vice President: Cyndi Plunkett

        Treasurer: Kim Lane

        Secretary: Carleen McCarty

      • Recycling: Bins provided by Student Club and Keep PTC Beautiful are here; several have been adopted already.  If you are interested in adopting a bin contact Lisa Hall at ocean_wistful@bellsouth.net Signage for proper disposal was discussed
      • Service Projects:  Four projects ongoing in special ed dept; all slated for completion by end of month or before. $800 provided by school special ed account.
      • School Store:  The smaller, commercial-grade, glass-front cooler that had been donated to PTSO when school store started is broken.  It will be checked out for repair possibilities or proper disposal.
      • Spiritwear:  Working on spirit packs for upcoming freshmen and senior tee shirts for the class of 2011, stay tuned for clearance sale dates to be announced
      • Student Club:  The PTSO 2010-2011 Student Club Executive Board is:

      • Teacher Appreciation Week is first week of May; PTSO has placed order with MHS, Ink. for coasters to match notepad holders we gave them last year
      • PTSO-sponsored Volunteer Appreciation Brunch is 20 May, Thursday at MHS
