Principal’s Remarks: Everyone has been enjoying the 4-day school weeks, it was a good first semester, PSAT scores are in, an informational meeting for the 2010-2011 application-only course application process is scheduled for January 14, 2010
Treasurer's Report: Reviewed income & expenditures for December, everyone is within budget but please keep spending tight, working hard on the PTSO tax situation dating back to 2003
Committee Reports
Accident Avoidance Workshop: Jeffrey Stillwell spoke about his program and answered questions, he will be at a table for Workshop sign-ups in the lobby during Sophomore and AP night Thursday 14 January, the date for the next session is Thurs 25 Feb for classroom portion and Sat and Sun, 27 and 28 Feb for driving portions, look for more information via constant contact to sign up, the PTSO will schedule a summer Accident Avoidance Workshop session during the first part of June; stay tuned for more details
Appropriations: There were 29 requests from teachers, 24 were approved 23 have been granted and 1 is waiting to be finalized
Bulletin Board: The bulletin board has been updated and looks great, keep sending in news articles about McIntosh students, parents, projects, teachers, etc.
Fashionata: No report
Front Office: No report
Guidance: Vicki Griffin resigned, in the process of interviewing to fill her position, help is needed to answer phones in the guidance office, if interested please contact Teresa Love; sandtlove@comcast.net
Homecoming: Is scheduled for September 24, 2010
Hospitality: The next teacher luncheon is 28 Jan for English Dept (19 teachers), Cyndi Plunkett will coordinated
Landscaping: The trees have been planted in the courtyard and will look beautiful in the Spring
Media Center: No report
Recycling: Collecting price quotes for recycling bins, waiting on number of bins needed and approved locations to place the bins
Service Projects: Two projects spoken for – picnic table and glider bench for Special Ed, contact Ellen Schneider at tellell@bellsouth.net if you are looking for a project, Mrs. Fine will send the teachers and staff an email asking for project ideas as the list of available projects is sparse right now
School Store: The volunteers are doing a great job and the store is profitable
Spiritwear: There will be an inventory push in order to make room for spring spiritwear coming out soon
Student Club: The Brick Sale is on-going, if interested in leaving a lasting legacy at MHS please contact Kathleen Oelberg at kathyoelberg@msn.com
Old Business
Night meeting: Postponed indefinitely.
Directory Distribution: Calls will be made to those who have paid their PTSO dues and have not picked up their directories; another reprinting may be needed after teachers are offered the chance to purchase a directory for $10
