MHS PTSO General Meeting Minutes January 13, 2009

  1. Welcome/Introductions
  1. Asst Principal’s Remarks (Dan Lane)

    Mr. Lane will be taking on the role of Registrar

    Due to budget cuts, there will not be a replacement for Assistant Principal at this time

    MHS has been chosen to host the Governor Honors Program on Jan. 20th

    The SACS Team will be visiting MHS on Jan. 27th

    Feb. 5th at 6:30: Electives Night (applications are due)

    Feb. 23: 2009-2010 Registration for courses –Students, please be sure to select courses you are truly interested in taking.  

  1. Treasurer's Report

    Reviewed finances for November & December

    Please direct incoming monies to Anne Houston and outgoing monies to Laura Potash 

  1. Committee Reports
      • Appropriations

        The only outstanding purchases to be submitted for reimbursement are from Mr. Akin, band – computerized music program ($330); Ms. Baker, band – tuner and metronome($400);  Ms. Cheely, nurse – AED pad replacement ($400); Mr. Meaney – math, computerized graphing calculator program ($60). Regie contacted them about reimbursement if they purchase – they get teacher discounts, etc, but she has not heard any further word. The nurse may have contacted the treasurers about the AED pad purchases

        Wish list deadline is Jan. 31, 2009

        Please turn in any positive MHS news to the front office

      • Fashionata

        Meeting scheduled for 7:00 pm on Jan. 20th at Bella Boutique

        Models must be members of the MHS Student Club

        Formalwear fashions will be featured by Once in a Lifetime

        The teachers appreciated the holiday cookies.  It may become an annual event.

        The committee continues to supply goodies for joint chiefs and department head meetings

        Parent volunteers need to contact Nancy Elward if unable to take his/her shift

      • Student Club

        Next meeting is Wed 21 Jan, 8am; PTSO parent reps Cele Eifert & Kathy Oelberg will attend

      • Faculty & Staff Holiday Cookie Party

        Was a success

      • Kit for Mr Prince (parking lot attendant) to jump start cars without another car

        Laurel Cantlon will look in to this possible purchase or donation

      • Lead to Succeed

        The student leadership seminars have begun.  Cele Eifert and Dan Lane are coordinating these sessions for students and parents who are interested in participating and sharing their leadership experiences. For more information contact Cele Eifert at ron-cele@att.net

      • PTSO Night Meeting

        Lani Pearson will contact our Risky Business speaker to schedule a date in March or April
