If the listing indicates that a nomination is needed, come by Guidance to pick up the Nomination Form to complete and return to Guidance.  Feel free to contact your guidance counselor if you need assistance.  Mrs. Huey is this year’s contact for scholarships. 

On-Campus College Visits:  Come by Guidance to sign-up in the On-Campus Visit book, complete the form for a pass, and pick up a handout.  These visits are for senior and juniors only.  Remember no passes will be issued the day of the visit.  Only three visits per student per year, so choose wisely!

Discover Duke University – A presentation of information about Duke’s programs, people, admissions and financial aid will be offered Sunday, September 16 @ 5:00 p.m. at the Emory Conference Center, 11615 Clifton Road, Atlanta and September 23 @ 4:00 p.m. at the J.W. Marriott Buckhead, 3300 Lenox Road, Atlanta. 

September 19, 2007 – The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine will host Vet School for a Day.  This program will provide information about career opportunities within the field of veterinary medicine at UGA.  A tour of the Teaching Hospital and lunch are provided.  You may pick up registration forms in the Guidance Office.  You must have the registration form and $10.00 mailed to UGA no later than August 29, 2007. 

September 29, 2007 @ 8:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering will host for seniors and their families an open house to visit their campus and learn about their engineering education program.  For a schedule and to RSVP, go to www.admissions.duke.edu 

Women in Engineering – 2007 Engineering Career Conference – October 11 & 12.  This event offers information about the 12 different engineering majors offered at Georgia Tech.  In addition, students will hear about admission requirements and procedures.  For information and an application visit http://www.coe.gatech.edu/diversity/wieecc.php 
 
IMPORTANT INFORMATION OF NEW CREDIT AND CREDIT RECOVERY 

New Credit – No more than 1 credit may be obtained per semester.  Limit of 2 credits may count toward graduation from a Fayette County Public School.  The two credits are for the entire high school career, including summer. 

Credit Recovery – No limit. 

A permission form MUST be obtained from your counselor prior to enrolling in a course.
