If the listing indicates that a nomination is needed, come by Guidance to pick up the Nomination Form to complete and return to Guidance.  Feel free to contact your guidance counselor if you need assistance.  Mrs. Huey is this year’s contact for scholarships. 

On-Campus College Visits:  Come by Guidance to sign-up in the On-Campus Visit book, complete the form for a pass, and pick up a handout.  These visits are for senior and juniors only.  Remember no passes will be issued the day of the visit.  Only three visits per student per year, so choose wisely!

Albany State University – 2007-2008 Campus Visitation Days on February 16, 2008 and March 22, 2008.  The informational program will begin at 9:00 p.m. in HPER Gymnasium. 

Savannah College of Art and Design will host SCAD Days.  This will include tours, admission information, portfolio counseling, financial aid and fellowship information.  The Atlanta location dates are November 3, 2007, February 2 and March 1, 2008.  The Savannah location dates are October 20, 2007, February 16 and April 5, 2008.  Register at www.scad.edu/visit. 

The University of Alabama will be holding University Days to share information on admission, courses, campus life, scholarships and much more.  Tour the campus and talk with an academic advisor.  The event dates are Friday, October 26, Monday, November 12 and Friday, November 30, 2007 for high school seniors only.  Dates for all prospective students are Monday, February 18 and Friday, March 28, 2008.  There is a $15 fee and deadlines.  For more information call 1-800-933-BAMA or email orientation@Ua.edu or visit the web site at universitydays.ua.edu or see the poster on the bulletin board outside the MHS Guidance Office. 

Reinhardt College will host The Way College Should Be for high school seniors on Saturday, November 10, 2007 and February 23, 2008.  The high school junior date is Saturday, April 19, 2008. The Medical College of Georgia Summer 2008 Student Educational Enrichment Program is a seven week program from May 31 through July 18, 2008.  This program is offered to students who have completed their high school junior or senior year, have a “B” average and are strongly interested in health professions.  This is an excellent opportunity and has an application deadline of March 1, 2008.

Preview Georgia Tech is a comprehensive visitation program that provides a thorough look at the academic offerings, student services, activities and facilities.  The preview dates are Monday, October 15, 2007, Monday, April 7 and Friday, June 27, 2008.  For more information, fees and registration, visit the web site at www.visits.gatech.edu/preview.

The University of Richmond invites juniors and seniors and their parents to a multicultural overnight visitation experience, Sunday and Monday, November 11th and 12th, 2007.  You will have the opportunity to meet professors, administrators and current students.  Information will be provided regarding admission, financial aid and more.  Reservations can be made online at www.richmond.edu/visitus or by phone at 800-700-1662.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON NEW CREDIT AND CREDIT RECOVERY 

New Credit – No more than 1 credit may be obtained per semester.  Limit of 2 credits may count toward graduation from a Fayette County Public School.  The two credits are for the entire high school career, including summer. 

Credit Recovery – No limit. 

A permission form MUST be obtained from your counselor prior to enrolling in a course. 
 
 

Ordering AP Exam Scores 

  1. Call the AP collegeboard at 1-888-225-5427.
  2. After the menu options’ recording is completed, wait on the line to speak with a customer service representative.
  3. Tell the representative that you with to have your AP scores sent to a college/university.  The McIntosh school code is 112360.  The representative may ask you for this code.
  4. Cost:  Advanced rush delivery (scores are mailed within 2 business days) is $25. Regular delivery (scores are mailed within 5 business days) is $15.  You can pay by credit card over the phone.
