Georgia Virtual School Credit Recovery Program - Spring 2009

For those students who failed a class and need to recover the credit, a mandatory orientation meeting will be held on January 11 in the MHS Auditorium for parents and students.  For more information on this program, see thecontract and guidelines.

PRACTICE ACT & SAT TESTS

Attention Students!  McIntosh High School and Club Z will host practice ACT & SAT Tests on January 9 (ACT) and January 23 (SAT).  For more information, please click here.  To register for one or both tests, click here.

Students, especially seniors and juniors, please check out this 2009 Georgia College Guide from Atlanta Magazine.  It has lots of good information! 

 GACollege 411:  One-Stop Site for Georgia Students & Families

 All students grades 9 - 12 should create an account on GACollege411.org.  It is very easy to do and will be required for transcript exchange, college admissions, HOPE scholarship and many other things!   Come by Guidance if you need help.

The Accel Program is for students classified as high school juniors and seniors at accredited public or private high schools in the state of Georgia, and is operated in all school terms except summer. The program allows students to pursue postsecondary study at approved public and private colleges and technical colleges while receiving dual high school and college credit for courses successfully completed.

SAT On-Line Course Offered by Georgia DOE

To access the FREE SAT on-line course offered by the state of Georgia, please have your student come by Guidance to pick up a card with individual student codes.

Chick-fil-a Talent Showcase:  We're kicking off our 2nd Annual Talent Showcase on Sat., Jan. 9th.  If you or someone you know is interested in entering this competition, please email me (Vicki Harris   vicki66ptcga@yahoo.com) ASAP for the Rules & Registration Form.  In case you haven't heard, we had over 300 people attended our Final Showcase (held in the MHS Auditorium) last year!  Unbelievable local talent competed for Chick-fil-A for a Year!  We're hoping to make it bigger & better this year. Spread the word!
